Workshop for Youth in Action agency directors

The three national agencies for Belgium (BIJ, JINT and das Jugenbüro) invite their colleagues and specialists from the European Commission to Belgium’s German-speaking Community. The officials meet twice a year in order to support the development and implementation of the YOUTH IN ACTION programme. In addition, they promote European co-operation in the youth field and the new EU youth strategy “Youth – Investing and Empowering”.
The network’s strategic goals for 2010-2011 have been laid down in a plan of action.

Management and ongoing development of the EU youth programme
- Support role: ongoing development of the training and co-operation plan. Play a proactive role in future developments involving support measures.

The future of the EU youth programme: the future of the youth programme in the context of the envisaged European youth policy. Interim evaluation of “Youth in Action”.

Communication and network: promote the culture of communication and mutual support within the network of national agencies. Improve communication in the common group, with the national agencies and the European Commission. Link up the numerous activities by and within the group. Create a calendar of important developments in European youth policy.
- Knowledge management strategy.
The network of national agencies works closely with the European Commission. The EU programme Youth in Action is administered on a decentralised level by the national agencies. It is created and presented within the common group – the representative group of the national agencies.
