Towards an economy compatible with sustainable development principles: "green" strategies in the context of sustainable development
This concerns the annual conference of the European Sustainable Development Network (ESDN). The conference will focus on the links between economic growth and sustainable development. These links will be developed on the basis of three topical dossiers : The EU ʽ2020 Strategyʼ, the OECD Green Growth Strategy, and the ʽGreen economyʼ, this last theme being already on the agenda for the next united Nations Conference on Sustainable Development.
This concerns the Annual Conference of the European Network on Sustainable Development (ESDN), a European network of Governmental Experts on the issue of Sustainable Development. Each year the conference is organised by the Member State that holds the EU Council Presidency.
This conference calls on Governmental Experts in Sustainable Development and experts from (National and European) bodies representing official opinions on the Environment and Sustainable Development.
Participants must be members of ESDN, unless the secretariat of ESDN decides otherwise.
The conference will focus on the links between economic growth and sustainable development, and on any new ideas that could contribute towards an economic model compatible with the principles of sustainable development, ideas based on the results of the seminar that took place in Madrid on the 25 and 26 March last. The links between economic growth and sustainable development will be explored by referencing three topical dossiers : The EU ʽ2020 Strategyʼ, the OECD Green Growth Strategy, and the ʽGreen economyʼ, this last theme being already on the agenda for the next united Nations Conference on Sustainable Development.
