Joint UN climate summit statement by Joke Schauvliege and Connie Hedegaard
The European Union wants to see a balanced package of political agreements in order to address the problem of climate change. This is what Flemish Minister for the Environment Joke Schauvliege and EU Commissioner Connie Hedegaard said in a joint statement at the start of the ministerial segment of the UN climate summit in Cancún. Together they will represent the position of the EU and its 27 member states at the summit.

It is an honor for our country to host the 2010 China-EU Business Summit. This gathering takes place after a very successful ASEM summit yesterday and – I am sure – before what will be an even fruitful EU-China summit this afternoon.
