The social security of moving researchers
The Institute of Social Law and the Centre of Social Policy of the KU Leuven organize on the 23rd and 24th of September 2010 a conference on the social security of moving researchers. This Conference is held in Leuven in co-organisation with DG Research of the European Commission, the Belgian Federal Public Service on Social Security, the League of European Research Universities and the European Institute of Social Security.
The world of the researchers has become more and more globalised and mobility has become a key aspect of the researchers’ career. The internationally mobile researcher should have the freedom to move within and outside Europe. However often he/she is confronted with obstacles with regard to his/her social security position.
After presenting an overview of the problems which researchers are confronted with when moving to other countries, a syntheses is made of the applicable legislation. Finally possible options for solutions are presented in order to facilitate a better mobility of the researcher and to make a positive step in the direction of a true dynamic European Research Area.
The Institute of Social Law and the Centre of Social Policy of the KU Leuven in co-organisation with DG Research of the European Commission, the Belgian Federal Public Service on Social Security, the League of European Research Universities and the European Institute of Social Security present a conference on "the social security of moving researchers".
