Science show with scientific experiments

Technopolis brings an interactive European science show. The show contains many exciting and surprising experiments, tested and performed in science centres across Europe. With that Technopolis combines all that the best European science centres have to offer.
Technopolis®, the Flemish Science Centre for science and technology in Mechelen, brings a science show with scientific experiments from several European science centres.
Technopolis® is known for its original and surprising ways of bringing science closer to the general public. Putting on science shows is an example of that. A science show is an attractive and interactive method of communicating scientific knowledge. At a science show knowledge is passed on in an original and informal way.
Technopolis® was inspired by the Belgian Presidency of the European Union. Starting from July 2010 Technopolis will go European by putting on an extraordinary science show. The show features experiments and trials from science centres from across Europe. To develop the show, Technopolis called on the European network of science centres, ECSITE, to which it belongs. Sound practical examples from several European countries are combined into a spectacular science show.
Technopolis® will put on the show every day during the summer months of July and August in its auditorium De Kegel. The show will start at 14.30 and last for about 30 minutes.
In the 2010 autumn school break (from 30 October 2010 until 7 November 2010), visitors will also be able to participate in the show, starting at 11.30 each day.
Participation in the show is included in the normal entrance fee of Technopolis®:
- adults and children over 12 years of age pay € 11.50 ;
- children from 3 to 11 years of age pay € 11.50.
Technopolis® is open daily from 9.30 to 17.00 (except on 1 January and 25 December and during the first full week of September).
