The role of social interlocutors in the definition, implementation and follow-up of the Europe 2020 strategy
Seminar jointly organised by the Central Economic Council, the National Labour Council and the European Economic and Social Committee with the support of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
As part of the Trio Presidency of the European Union which began this year, the Spanish and Hungarian Economic and Social Councils, the Central Economic Council and the National Labour Council have joined forces to implement a joint initiative for the Europe 2020 European Growth Strategy.
During the Belgian Presidency of the second half of 2010, the Central Economic Council and the National Labour Council, together with the European Economic and Social Committee, are holding a European seminar in Brussels on the role of social interlocutors and civil society in the definition, implementation and follow-up of the Europe 2020 European Strategy.
The seminar will provide an opportunity to bring together at one event many of the key actors affected by the economic and social challenges resulting from the new EU strategy at both the European and national levels. These include the Economic and Social Councils of the Member States, the social interlocutors, the members of the EESC, the Belgian Ministers impacted, the European Commission and the representatives of organised civil society and academia.
