Visit by Salam Fayyad, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister

Prime Minister Yves Leterme today received the Palestinian Authority Prime Minister, Salam Fayyad, at his Lambermont residence. Yves Leterme reiterated that Belgium and the EU supported the talks to build bridges between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
These talks had restarted under pressure from US envoy George Mitchell. Prime Minister Salam Fayyad thanked Belgium for its positive attitude and for the role that the EU had played in easing the blockade of the Gaza strip.
