"...im entscheidenden Augenblick - d'instant décisif..."
Exhibition based on the snapshot and staged photography, taking as its basic theme the control mechanisms between chaos and impulse in the sense of: (out of) CONTROL.
"There is nothing in this world that does not have a decisive moment." Such is the credo of Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004), the old master of modern photography and international photojournalism.
Cartier-Bresson was also nicknamed "the eye of the 20th century". His essay The Decisive Moment, published in 1952, became the manifesto of an entire generation of photojournalists. Capturing the essence of a situation meant for the French master of photography, "in a fraction of a second, recognising an act and the rigorous organisation of forms perceived visually that express and signify that act".
