Panta Rhei – Conference of European Paying Agencies
Panta Rhei is an ICT working group of the European Union’s paying agencies. These are the organisations which pay European subsidies to farmers. The purpose of Panta Rhei is to achieve a better exchange of experience and expertise in the field of information technology between European paying agencies. As a result of this exchange the European paying agencies will attempt to improve the implementation of the European Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
The Panta Rhei conference traditionally lasts 3 days.A number of workshops take place on the first half-day (Wednesday 6 October). During the second and third days (7 and 8 October respectively), the plenary conference will take place with numerous presentations and the presentation of the results of the workshops.
All of the activities will take place in the NH Hotel Belfort in Ghent. During the plenary assembly, interpreters will translate simultaneously into four languages. At the end of the second day (Thursday 7 October), the organising country will host a gala dinner in a prestigious location for all conference participants and a number of invited guests. It is also a tradition for the host minister to give a speech during the dinner.
The organisation of the event is being handled in close consultation with the Panta Rhei secretariat, which at the moment is deputised by the Swedish paying agency.
Approximately one hundred people will attend. Three participants per Member State together with an important delegation from the European Commission and the European Auditing Authority.
