Musical Gardens Festival
The Musical Gardens Festival is an annual music festival in Warsaw which will celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2010. In 2010, the focus will be extensively on the Belgian EU presidency. At the start of the new EU presidency in July attention will turn to the opportunities for the new president. Films about opera, ballet and art will be shown three days a week. Flemish dance theatre will also be extensively represented.
The programme for the Belgian component of this festival is as follows:
- 1 July - ‘In Hommage to Queen Elisabeth...’: opening concert conducted by Belgian Robert Groslot
- 3 July - ‘Jacques Brel — the Stage of Life’
- 8 July - ‘René Magritte — Day and Night’
- 15 July - ‘Jazz at the Music Gardens’: The film ‘Toots Thielemans — A Jazz Legend’ and a screening of Thielemans’ concert at the Jazz Middelheim Festival in Antwerp.
- 17 July - ‘Don Quixote’: film of the opera with José van Dam
