Meeting of Nature Conservation Directors & Forestry Directors
The informal meeting of the Nature and Forestry Directors is organized jointly by the European Commission and the Department of Nature and Forest of the Walloon Region. Other regions (Flemish Region and Brussels-Capital Region) and the Federal Administration also collaborate. .
During this joint meeting, we will approach the theme of the biodiversity in European forest but we will also establish links with the themes of current events at the European and international level. (High Level Conference « Biodiversity post2010 » in Ghent, 10th COP of the CDB to Nagoya, consultation on the Green Paper of the Commission)
The meeting will focus on four themes in the workshops and plenary sessions:
- Biodiversity in Forest (including the roles of forests in climate change)
- Everyday’s Nature - Biodiversity and human activities (including the questions relative to the post2010strategy)
- Biodiversity and preservation states’ indicators
- Financing of Natura on 2000
The working language will be English - a translation in French is provided for the plenary sessions.
