Launch of Transeo: The International Association of professionals in SME transfers

On 9 December in Brussels the constitutive assembly of the international association Transeo, founded by SOWACCESS and its partners MKBase (The Netherlands) and CRA (France). Transeo has the objectives of encouraging, supporting and promoting cooperation and the exchange of good practices concerning transfers and takeovers of SMEs between European professionals in the private, (semi-)public and academic sectors, in order to stimulate the market for transfers and takeovers of companies at local and international level.

Within the framework of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the competitiveness of SMEs is in line with the priorities of the Industry Council of the EU. Transferring companies is an effective means for improving this competitiveness, by contributing to maintaining the added value of companies, but above all to their growth, which is favourable to employment.

From this point of view, in May 2009 SOWACCESS and its partners MKBase (The Netherlands) and CRA (France) organised the first European forum on the transfer of SMEs. With more than 200 professionals in 18 countries, this forum obtained lively success and confirmed their determination to meet within an international association: Transeo.

The Transeo association has the objectives of encouraging, supporting and promoting cooperation and the exchange of good practices concerning transfers and takeovers of SMEs between European professionals in the private, (semi-) public and academic sectors, in order to stimulate the market for transfers and takeovers of companies at local and international level.

On 9 December 2010, SOWACCESS, MKBase and CRA will organise the constitutive Assembly of Transeo. This event will bring together the members of the association (advisors in the private and public sectors, financial actors, academic actors), as well as Belgian and European political and economic decision makers, it will be closed by Minister Jean-Claude MARCOURT, who is chairing the Industry Council.
