Future Internet Conference Week
The Future Internet Conference Week will offer a series of conferences and activities explicitly devoted to exploring the synergy and conjunction between the various parties concerned in order to enable Belgium and Europe to assume a key position within Future Internet Research.
The Internet is one of the most crucial infrastructures for the 21st century and as a support for social and economic development, it is capable of constructing a truly knowledge-based society. The Future Internet Conference Week will offer a series of conferences and activities in this field, explicitly exploring the synergy and conjunction between the various parties involved in order to allow Belgium and Europe to assume a key position within this highly globalised issue. Cooperation between governmental authorities, industry and academics is essential in order to develop a sufficiently effective approach. The Belgian Presidency of the EU provides an excellent opportunity to bring together a large number of these European communities in Ghent and to conduct a dialogue beyond the borders of disciplines and communities.
The Conference Week is being coordinated by the IBBT (Interdisciplinary Institute for Broadband Technology) in close collaboration with Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs, the Future Internet Assembly (FIA), the Future Internet Research & Experimentation (FIRE), the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL) and the Networked European Software and Services Initiative (NESSI).
