Fortnight for equal opportunity and diversity
The goal of this initiative is to illustrate the contribution of the Brussels-Capital Region and of Europe in the area of equal opportunity and diversity.
The goal of the fortnight is threefold:
- Increase the visibility of equal opportunity and diversity policy in the Brussels-Capital Region ;
- Raise the awareness of Brussels residents about the role of Europe in general and about equal opportunity and diversity policy in particular ;
- Inform the public at large about the activities of organisations active in the field of equal opportunity in Brussels .
Theme and target audience
Social exclusion isn’t just a question of “poverty”. It also involves issues such as income, social protection systems, housing, and access to health care.
The target audiences of this fortnight are, on one hand, the residents of Brussels and, on the other, civil society and professionals active in the field of equal opportunity in the Brussels-Capital Region.
The events of the fortnight
The official opening session will be a colloquium at the Brussels Parliament. The fortnight will close out with a socio-cultural event intended for a wider audience (evening).
During the fortnight, associations active in the field will organise various events to raise the awareness of Brussels residents about poverty and exclusion.
