Fleet display days
The two-day fleet parade by the Navy is an opportunity for families to get to know the Belgian and international navies in both their civil and military capacities, and their multifaceted activities. Several ships and their crews will explain their operations: minesweeping, combating piracy, and other varied duties such as those done by bomb disposal diving experts.
There will be several navy ships on display, including the multi-purpose frigate ‘Louise-Marie’ that was part of the European mission Atalanta, combating piracy along the Somali coastline. Also on display will be the sailing training ship, the Zénobe Gramme. There will also be various other federal vessels from the customs authority, the maritime police, the environmental protection service etc. On an international level, representatives from the English, Dutch and German navies will be present. There will also be many musical, artistic and recreational activities on offer over the two days.
