European Education Committee Meeting
The first meeting of the European Education Committee under the Belgian Presidency will take place on 1 and 2 July, 2010 in Ostend. During this conference the Belgian Presidency will present its programme and working methods. The programme contains a number of important points that deserve special attention, such as learning mobility, education in the field of sustainable development, schools of the 21st century, social inclusion, quality assurance and transparency within European education.
The European Education Committee is the council working group preparing the decisions for the European education ministers, who will officially confirm the preparations at a later date.
The first meeting of the Council Working Group under the Belgian Presidency will take place in Ostend on 1 and 2 July, 2010. The programme of the Belgian EU Presidency and the working methods will be presented there.
The priorities which the Presidency wants to address are, among others, mobility, education in sustainable development, social inclusion and schools of the 21st century. The emphasis is on key competencies and early school leavers. The European Education Committee will also evaluate the Copenhagen Process for European cooperation on vocational education and training.
