Environment Council
The European Environment Ministers follow up any environmental issues in the EU. The decisions they take can range from biodiversity to the marine environment. The Ministers also seek to adopt a common position on climate change, so as to speak with one voice at the international negotiating table. To ensure that they can do so, Environment Council meetings are held about four times a year. Protection and improvement of the environment is the common thread running through their policies.
