Draw me a future
Countless men and women from all backgrounds (childcare workers, teachers, officials, psychologists, sportsmen and women, etc.) are working to combat child poverty in Brussels, dreaming up all kinds of projects which offer support, bringing laughter, joy and a sparkle to the eyes of thousands of children from deprived families. As part of the European Year for Combating Poverty, homage is paid to them in the "Draw me a future" exhibition of photographs and testimonies at the Halles Saint-Gery from 2 to 31 October.
As part of the European Year for Combating Poverty, an exhibition of photographs is presented in praise of social workers in Brussels, who lead the way in combating child poverty.
This exhibition does not relate to poverty per se, an issue frequently raised, but to those whose work involves the physical, social, financial, psychological and cultural care for a deprived section of the public.
The exhibition seeks to present a positive, appreciative and uplifting image of social workers and to let them speak for themselves (the photos are accompanied by testimonies).
The projects presented through the exhibition show the range of different approaches to combating poverty. Through this theme, the project responds to one of the Presidency’s priorities.
