2 WORKSHOPS:

- 11:15-13:00: Involvement of “civil society” in cross-border cooperation. Discussions on cross-border projects concerning involvement of civil society in view of promotion of active citizenship, on the occasion of the European Year for Volunteerism.

- 15:00-17:00: Implementation strategies for cross-border polycentric metropolitan areas in the Greater Region and the Upper Rhine Region. Explanation of the idea behind and the purpose of polycentric metropolitan areas. Pros and cons of the polycentric approach: Other region’s experiences, transposability onto regions in the EU. Presentation of the findings from the METRO BORDER project.
