Conference on the Application of EU Water Policies in the Agricultural Sector
This conference will discuss the application and observance of European legislation relating to the use of water in the agricultural sector.
The Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC), published in December 2000 aims to achieve the good condition of all water in the Community in 2015 (or 2021/2027 subject to duly justified derogation).
Three parallel sessions will cover quantitative, qualitative and transversal aspects:
- Quantitative aspects: unauthorised water catchments
- Qualitative aspects: monitoring of water protection measures against pollution by nutrients (nitrates, phosphorus), pesticides and sediment (erosion)
- Transversal aspects: aquatic ecosystems, buffer zones, flood plains
