Community Plant Health Regime review conference
The Community Plant Health Regime is under review by the FCEC consortium instructed by the European Commission. A provisional report was presented on 23 and 24 February 2010. The final report is due in June 2010. The review will be presented to stakeholders and the authorities at a conference in October 2010.
The Community Plant Health Regime is under review by the FCEC Consortium instructed by the European Commission. A provisional report was presented on 23 and 24 February 2010. The final report is due in June 2010. The review will be presented to stakeholders and the authorities at a conference in October 2010 (organized jointly by the European Commission and Belgian Presidency)
Conclusions as to the way forward, based on the options presented during the Belgian Presidency, will be prepared by meetings of COPHS (Chief Plant Health Officers) and Council working parties. The contents of this dossier will depend on the results of the final report by the Consortium and the Commission.
The Commission has announced that it wishes to proceed as quickly as possible with an impact study of the options proposed in the final report, for presentation at the end of 2011, so that the revised CPHR (Community Plant Health Regime) can be applied.
The conference will be opened by John DALLI, European Commissioner for Health, and Minister Sabine LARUELLE.
