Child in Flanders Conference : “more opportunities for children in Europe”

The theme of the biennial ‘Child in Flanders’ conference this year will be the European Year 2010 for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion. We will use recent figures to provide an overview of the living conditions for young children in Flanders and the European policy on poverty. The focus will be on child poverty and will highlight good practices in the fight against poverty.

- Millennium babies: what have we learned from longer term research on poverty?
Workshops in the afternoon
- Meeting places for young children and their parents: vision and practice
- Practical examples of entrance teams
- Parent universities in Flanders
Flemish minister of Public Health, Welfare and Family, Jo Vandeurzen, will close the conference.
