  • September, it’s time to go back to school!

    The beginning of September. Here it is, we’re here! The days are beginning to grow shorter. The summer period is gradually fading into the arms of the autumn. Soon the holidays will be nothing but a distant memory. For young people still in their school years, the end of the holidays is obviously synonymous in their eyes with the end of a certain carefree existence. Throughout Europe, with common points but also with numerous differences, young Europeans are getting ready. It’s time to go back to school!

  • Brussels' floral symphony: 650,000 flowers form a carpet

    While the Flower Carpet in the Grand-Place is an established tradition, the summer showers are indeed traditional too, whether we like it or not. On this Thursday 12 August 2010 the two traditions seem to insist on being upheld on the same day. The result: the volunteers were forced to lay out the flower carpet in between two showers. But in spite of the rain that interrupted its creation, the carpet was nonetheless, as it always has been, a true masterpiece.
