Blog: “Presidency for the citizen”
On the occasion of the 2010 Belgian Presidency, the European Movement-Belgium (EBB) is realising a bilingual blog (FR and NL) with accessible and informal information about the EU and the Presidency, geared towards a young audience.
This blog wants to initiate interaction between youngsters on European topics in general and the Belgian Presidency in particular. The main objective is to provide educational information on the European Union and the Belgian Presidency, while also providing youngsters with fun and interesting information. The blog offers a mix of background information, interesting links, films, photos, tips for educational material as well as opinions and texts written by youngsters or audiovisual material by and for youngsters.
With this initiative, the EBB will actively involve a young audience in the debate about the EU and Belgian’s role within the EU. They will also be stimulated to have their say and express their ideas and concerns regarding Europe. This interactive way of communicating offers an alternative to the usual information about the EU.
The blog is bilingual (NL and FR). In an open, young and pluralistic framework, this blog gives youngsters an opportunity to think and talk about the future of the EU.
