AeroWeek: European aerospace industry today and its challenges in the future
The AeroWeek is a series of events organised in Brussels aiming at debating on the role of European aerospace industry today and its challenges in the future. It is a unique opportunity for several high level stakeholders from European institutions, research establishments and aerospace industry to express and share their vision for this strategic sector for Europe during 3 days of manifestation.
ASD (Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe) is organising in Brussels the AeroWeek: a series of events to highlight today’s contribution of the aerospace industry to Europe as well as the challenges and opportunities it has to deal with for the future.
Aerospace is a major industry for Europe, which has a strategic role to play in the implementation of a number of Europe’s priorities for the future:
- Can the European Aerospace sector take up the challenge of climate change and make air-transport more eco-efficient?
- Can Aerospace take the lead in the process aimed at making Europe more innovative and research-oriented?
- How to enhance the contribution of the sector to Europe’s economic development, and how can this contribution benefit more to European citizens?
These are some of the themes which EU policy-makers, experts, journalists, scientists and members of the industry will debate during 3 days of conferences, round-tables and exhibition in the European Parliament.
In parallel with those events in the European Parliament ASD and CEAS (Council of European Aerospace Societies) are organising a special high-level Conference: “Aerospace for Europe – More than just flying”.
Through several workshops dedicated to aeronautics and space, Members of the European Parliament, industry CEOs and representatives of the European Commission will express their views on the future for this strategic sector.

The whole AeroWeek is designed to foster debate across a wide range of stakeholders. It should particularly encourage dialogue between Europe’s decision-makers, with a view to building the partnership which today’s environmental and mobility challenges call for.
