25th Namur International French-language Film Festival (FIFF)
For 25 years, the FIFF has put on a true extravaganza: screenings of French-language films, special sessions, favourites, professional workshops, educational activities, cinema tutorials, concerts, blind tests, competitions, animations, soirées … something for everyone! Over eight days more than 30,000 spectators will gather in Namur for a fitting celebration of French-language cinema. See you in October
Since 1986, the FIFF, presided over by Olivier Gourmet, has promoted and circulated more than 140 short and feature length films, fiction, animations or documentaries, reflections of francophone diversity, particularly European. Since 1989, the Bayards have rewarded the lucky winners of the various competitions.
A place for professionals to get together and reflect, particularly at the meetings and workshops organised throughout the week, it also contributes to the education of young people between the ages of 3 and 25, offering them educational activities.
The FIFF also dedicates itself to promoting Belgian cinema. Represented both by its films and those who make them, Belgian cinema finds in Namur the perfect showcase for its growing popularity.
The FIFF, the only festival of French-language films to be recognised by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations, attracts 30,000 spectators. In order to reach an eclectic audience, the Festival alternates mainstream productions and creative films, more intimist.
This year, with a desire for openness, one of the guidelines of the FIFF will be francophilia. In fact, the francophone language and culture have a weight and history which extend beyond its borders. This is why we will place the emphasis on this francophilia in the various activities put in place. Also, as the FIFF will take place during the Belgian Presidency of the European Union, European francophiles will be invited, among others, to celebrate our 25 years!
